Best Laptop Bag in the World!

    By DaveM | October 9, 2007

OK, this has absolutely nothing to do with matters of money, but I have to share my excitement with someone. My wife thinks I’m crazy and won’t listen to me…

As a computer engineer, I’ve tried more laptop bags, briefcases, and backpacks than I care to remember. Most of the time, they are either too big, too small, don’t have enough pockets, too heavy when filled with all my stuff, or some other such thing.

I’ve purchased bags and taken them back to the store a few days later because I didn’t like something. And believe me, I’ve spent anywhere from $20 per bag, on up to well over $100. It doesn’t matter - they’ve all had their little flaws.

That all changed recently when my 16 year old son was helping me hunt down the “perfect” bag online. After I shared all my most common complaints with him, he set out to find a solution. And find a solution he did!

eBags has the Router Wheeled Laptop Convertiblewhich has got to be the most perfect bag I’ve ever laid eyes & hands on!

It’s a backpack that converts into a wheeled pull/push-along. It’s sleek, it’s sexy, and it’s very roomy! It also has a wonderful bright orange interior lining so you can see EVERYTHING even deep down in the darkest corner at the bottom.

I think my favorite feature is the side-load laptop sleeve. It’s awesome for quick removal at the airport security checkpoint, and you don’t have to disturb any of your other stuff.

Here’s a picture of the bag which links over to eBags where you can check it out in more detail and read some reviews.

Of course, because the bag is a little pricey, and I’m a self-proclaimed tightwad, I waffled for almost 2 weeks about ordering the silly thing. The decision was finally made for me recently when I flew to Wisconsin for a job. After walking through two airports with the straps of my backpack cutting into my shoulders, I decided I didn’t care how much the Router bag was — I was going to buy it!

Well, it finally arrived and I couldn’t be more pleased. It holds everything from my old bag with plenty of room to spare. The wheels are super silent, and the telescoping handle is sturdy. All in all, the bag is very rich looking, and I’m betting it will be the envy of my co-workers.

Of course, the wheels are especially nice for us “old guys” who don’t need to be lugging 20+ pounds of stuff around on our shoulders anymore.
